Family Game Night (Episode 1)

One of the games my family enjoys most is a card game called - Fluxx.

Fluxx is a card game with ever changing rules. The cards themselves determine the rules of the game (and the winning conditions).

Fluxx is by Looney Labs and is reasonably priced at $16. If you like the core game, there are tons of expansions from Wizard of Oz Fluxx to Zombie Fluxx, to Spanish Fluxx, to Family Fluxx. The expansions can be played separately or combined with the core rules.

Where to play games in Central PA?

We've created a Central PA gaming and pop culture meet up group.
If you want to see what's going on in Harrisburg, Lancaster, Hanover, York, Shrewsbury then join our group here:

Family Game Night - An Introduction

Owning the Comic Store West I meet a lot of people coming in to buy games. The gaming industry has had an explosion over the past few years and is reflected in the number of families holding family game nights.

When I was a kid we played lots of games at my house. We never called it a family game night but that's exactly what it was. My parents, my brother and myself would gather at the card table and play games and spend time together. I can remember playing Monopoly and Chinese Checkers the most but we also wore out our Sorry game, Battleship, Clue, Trivia Pursuit, Checkers, Bingo, Scrabble. My mom loved playing card games like War and Crazy Eights.

We always had a great time when it came to playing games and I'm glad to see that in this ever crazy busy world families and friends are taking the time to get off the internet and away from the TV and play some old fashion boardgames and cards games as well as some of the newer boardgames and card games.

Since we are attempting a KGS comeback I've decided to try and write an article each week about a game we played as a family that week. Hopefully it will give visitors a chance to hear about some games they've never heard of.
