Hot Rod Creeps - Race #1 - Four Short Speedway
Ok race fans.
Hot Rod Creeps the board game is out and KGS love it !!
In fact we are running a full season of races.
Race #1 of the 2012 race season was at the Four Short Raceway. As you can see from the layout there are lots of hairpin turns and not many pit stops.
It was a wild ride (especially through the shark pit and flaming ring) but the winner of the first race was 'THE UNDERWORLD' driven by KGS member John. I think he had a little help from the big guy (no, the big guy from down under).
Keep checking back for standings and the results of our next race.
Oh and buy this game, it is loads of fun !!
Designer - Brian
Number of track spaces - 65
Finishing order:
John - Underworld - 10 points
Brian - Battle Wizards - 7 points
Scott - Monsters - 5 points
Sam - Rockabillies - 3 points
Dave - Food Fight - 2 points
Bryan - Aliens - 1 point

RCC Game Night Report
The Renew Community Church game night was sparsely attended but a good time was had by all. It was need to see the entire KGS gang together under one roof. It's been awhile since that has happened!
We set up all of the games and played in four rotations for a half hour each so players got to play four new games by the end of the evening. Consensus was that Word on the Street was the most popular board game of the evening.
Here are some photos from the event:
If you want to check out Renew Community Church you can do so at http://renewcc.wordpress.com/.
A special thanks goes out to Comic Store West for supporting the event! Check them out at www.comicstorewest.com.

Ticket to Ride - Asia
Ticket to Ride Map Collection Volume 1: Asia
Warning - This is an expansion so you do need the original Ticket to Ride to play or Ticket to Ride Europe.
Contents
- Ticket To Ride Asia contains not just one but two different maps (Team ASia and Legendary Asia) on thick double-sided board.
- Two sets of destination cards
- Nine extra trains in each of the 5 colors
- Four wooden card holders (yes, real wood)
- Two full-color rulebooks
Legendary Asia
This map offers more cities in the south with longer routes to the north. There are two special types of tracks - Ferries and Double Routes.
Team Asia
Some of the same area as the Legendary map is covered on the Team Asia map. Besides rules for team play this map introduces tunnel routes.
Conclussion
Awesome expansion to a great game. Team play is great. Price point ($30) is even lower than I thought it would be. I give it a solid 5 out of 6.

The Game To Watch For in 2012 - Zombicide
Guillotine Games has announced a new game coming next summer that I am excited about.
Zombiecide is a cooperative miniature game set during the coming zombie apocalypse.
For 2 - 6 players. Players take on the role of survivors who work together to survive the zombie hordes.
The game features a modular playing board, 71 miniatures (most of which are zombies), 10 pre-designed scenarios, rules, dice and cards.
The game will be distributed by the same company who just release Super Dungeon Explore - CoolMiniOrNot.
KGS loves zombie games so I'm sure this will be a big hit. Look for a full review next summer.

Super Dungeon Explore - Hottest new miniature/board game on the market?
Super Dungeon Explore (SDE) is a dungeon crawler, inspired by old japanese console-RPG's. The miniatures are done in a cute / chibi / super-deformed style, that means the head is roughly the same size as the rest of the body.
One to five players take the role of classic fantasy heroes like the human paladin, a dwarf fighter or an elf ranger.
One player is the "Dark Consul" who controls the monsters of the dungeon.
Every hero/monster has a character card which informs you about the stats for movement, attack, armor, willpower, dexterity, action points and hearts (= life points). Additional information may include special abilities / actions / attacks and potions.
The game is played on modular dungeon boards. In a round of play the game passes back and forth between single heroes and the monsters, but the exact order may change from round to round. The characters use the stats from their character card, special dice (with hearts, potions and stars) are only used for combat and checks. If the heroes wound the opponent they may draw loot cards to improve their stats. There is also the possibility to open treasure chests to find even more powerful things. The monsters have no possibility to "level up" but the Dark Consul has an unlimited number of them.
To win the game the Dark Consul must defeat all heroes in his dungeon. The heroes must defeat all monsters and destroy all spawning points (= entry points for new monsters) to be victorious.
Game Contents
• 50 + highly detailed Soda Pop Miniatures
• Custom Super Dungeon Battle Dice
• Character and Minion Stat Cards
• Loot and Treasure Card Decks
• 5 Large, Double Sided Dungeon Boards
• 32 Page Rule Book

NEW GAME - Harry Potter House Cup Challenge
Ok, I'm spending too much money on games. My order for this new Harry Potter Game came in today so that's like 8 new games in the past 6 weeks.
There will not be a review or box opening of this game until sometime after the holidays because this is a gift for my kids at Christmas. Sorry folks you will need to wait until at least the 12/26 for a review.
It looks like a great game, and my kids love Harry Potter so I'm sure it will be a big hit.

NEW GAME - Duel In The Dark
The other day I told you about one of the two new games I just bought.
Today I will tell you about the other.
DUEL IN THE DARK
Description:
Duel in the Dark is a World War 2 air combat game depicting the nighttime air raids of British bombers hitting German cities.
As the head of the British Bomber Command, you plan the attacks on Germany in order to undermine the morale of the civilian population. Or as a General of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe), you defend using your ace squadrons and organizing an effective civil defense.
The gameboard enables you to set up countless variations of these historic events. You play as many nights as you wish - each night takes 30-45 minutes to resolve.
Immerse yourself in the strategic and tactical thinking needed to survive in those dark times.
Gameplay allows for easy entry into the action with some advanced rules for the hearty wargamer. The game rules include weather conditions, full moon/new moon bonuses and penalties, clouds and thunderclouds, fog, flak, searchlights, balloon barriers, target markers, and much more.
The British player secretly plots the course of the bomber while the Mosquito acts as escort or decoy. The German player tries to figure out where the bomber is going, making sure to efficiently use the fuel to get as many hits on the bomber as possible.

NEW GAME - Bloodsuckers
I just picked up two new board games.
The first one I got because Halloween is coming and KGS will be sponsoring some games at the annual ZombieFest held at Comic Store West in York PA.
This game is called BLOODSUCKERS.
Description:
The once quiet small town of Blackwood has become a battleground. A coven of vampires has crept in under the cover of darkness to drain the very life from its helpless citizens. As powerful as these creatures of legend are, they do not prowl the streets unchallenged. A team of skilled vampire hunters with an arsenal of modern weapons has tracked these bloodsuckers down and the battle for the soul of Blackwood is about to begin.
Play as either vampire or hunter, using Attack cards to battle for the citizens of Blackwood, Impact cards to enhance your powers, and deadly Strike cards to destroy your opponent. Unleash powerful combos and use Blood or Adrenaline as you fight, alone or with a teammate, through both night and day. Win battles to recruit the innocent bystanders at the Nightclub, Church, Graveyard, Police Station, and Hospital. Claim the most locations to win control of the town.
Save the town of Blackwood, or drain it dry.
The choice is yours.
Bloodsuckers is a highly thematic strategy card game for 2 to 4 players ages 13 and up.
- Players can choose to fight as either vampires or hunters with different abilities for each side.
- Time of day is tracked using the Clockdial with day and night having special effects on gameplay.
- Multiple ways to combine cards gives players exciting strategic options.
- Four-player games focus on unique team-based gameplay.

Moto Grand Prix with 10!!
I had the rare privilege to be invited to a guys night at Scott’s friend Kevin’s home. His place is the average American home with a pool table off the kitchen, while Air Hockey and Ping Pong own a garage bay each. It was a great time and good food but I have to say that the highlight of the evening for me was moving the 8 chairs away from his massive dinning room table and all ten of us playing a game of Moto Grand Prix!
I brought Moto Grand Prix to the party because of its simplicity and because I think its one of the best racing games I’ve played. Have a bunch of men and get them into a competitive race of anything and you have a formula for manly entertainment!
What is Moto Grand Prix? From Fantasy Flights website:
Moto Grand Prix is a fun and exciting game for all ages with a fast, realistic, dice-based system for playing multi-lap races quickly. Moto Grand Prix's beautiful, accurate models can lean and wheelie, and the modular boards allow a wide range of realistic circuits. This box includes 6 miniature motorcycles, 6 cockpit boards, more than 70 modular circuit components, and dice.
Now that you read that your thinking “Wait Sam said they played with 10 people and the set only comes for 6 people!” For our game I used my one set of Moto Grand Prix track with my constructed set of bikes and dashboards. With what I made I can run a game with 28 bike on the track at once!! Played Moto Grand Prix once you’ll realize that their recommendation that each player should have a team of 2 bikes is the way to go, 6 bikes is not enough.

In this pic you see an example of the bikes and dashboards you get with the set(right side of pic) and the laminated bikes w/standiee's and dashboards that I made myself.
Eventually I want to convince Ken of Proxiemodels.blogspot.com cast me bikes so I can have stuff similar to what comes in the box set.
When I started explaining the rules you could see some peoples eyes rolling back in their heads but I swore to them that the game was easy and in a turn or 2 they’d have it down. Sure enough within 2 to 3 turns our bikes we’re flying around the track.
The game uses what they call the ‘Flip Dice’ mechanic where if you roll a 2 and a 3 on your six sided dice you can flip the 2 to a 5 (If you add the 2 opposite sides of a die they always add up to seven. And yes I know that some bizarre companies have made dice that this isn’t true on but 99.9% of the time it’s true). So we’re you move was going to be a 5 (2+3) it can now be a 9(flip both dice to get 5+4)! If you ever use two 6’s you have to make a roll against how rough you’ve been on your engine. Roll to high and you’ll blow your engine and your out of the race.
Some of the highlights of our race was my amazing maneuver into first place only to be the first person to blow my engine. Around the same area of the track Scott pushed his engine to try to catch everyone and had to roll below a 4 on 2 dice to not blow up his engine. To the cheers and amazement of us all he rolled a 3! It still wasn’t enough to bring him out of last place and when he tried it a second time he ended up with me along side the edge of the track! In the last half of the last laps bikes were dropping like fly’s as everyone fought for the win. In the end Kevin maneuvered himself so that he make first place no matter what he rolled while Stacey crossed the line soon after. Miguel and Spencer followed them in while the rest had destroyed our bikes on the way to the finish line!
Everyone loved it and there was a consensus that there would have to be another man’s night soon and it’s going to include a game of Moto Grand Prix!
